About The Development Team
B'nai B'rith Housing New England (BBH NE) is a professionally staffed, non-profit organization dedicated to producing non-sectarian, affordable housing throughout Greater Boston. The group's board members all are seasoned real estate developers with decades of individual experience and are well-represented at all levels of government, in the advocacy community, and in the real estate and development professions. Their relationships with local, state, regional and national public agencies are perhaps without equal in Greater Boston.
Following the success of its three senior housing Covenant House properties in Brighton, BBH NE undertook the development of 33Comm, a mixed-income home ownership community. For this project, B'nai B'rith Housing has assembled a highly-regarded and industry-wide respected project team.
Executive Director Susan Gittelman is a 20-year veteran of urban development and a former Director of Real Estate at Urban Edge in Boston. Board President Marvin Siflinger has accumulated more than 40 years experience including posts at HUD's Boston and New York regional offices before being appointed Executive Director of the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency. He is the founding chairman of Housing Partners, Inc., a national affordable housing consulting firm.
The Board is joined in this innovative effort by Pilot Construction, a New England based general contractor that has built more than 4,000 units of multi-family housing over the past 20 years.
Building architect Garry Gardner is a managing partner of Sheskey Architects. He is the lead architect for major projects, responsible for design, development, execution and administration. He is also a managing director of Sheskey, participating in the direction of work and supervision of other projects, and has been with the firm since 1985.
The landscape architect is Joseph Geller of Stantec, formerly known as Geller Devellis. He is a former Selectman in the Town of Brookline, and the current President of the Boston Society for Landscape Architecture.
Together with the region's most accomplished marketing and sales teams, from Chestnut Hill Realty and The Collaborative Companies (TCC) of Burlington, MA, the developer will present a beautifully designed and executed new community that will integrate seamlessly into the surrounding community, while offering high-quality housing at truly affordable prices.
